Physician. Writer. Learner.

Hello! My name is Alison, and I am a physician consultant with a passion for educating, mentoring, and advocating. I have lived in many places across the United States, but I spent most of my childhood in Texas.

I knew I wanted to go somewhere new for college, and I chose Atlanta, GA. I graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science degree, double majoring in Biology and Anthropology. After taking a gap year, I attended UT Health Long School of Medicine in San Antonio, where I graduated with my MD, as well as an MPH from the UT School of Public Health.

During medical school, I discovered a passion for mental health and psychiatry, and I completed my intern year in this specialty. However, during that year, I realized that I wanted to make a broader impact and decided to pursue other areas of medicine.

Currently, I am applying to preventive medicine and public health training programs, while freelancing as a consultant and writer. My primary interests include medical trainee wellbeing and mentorship, mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and disaster management, and I enjoy learning more about and educating others on these topics.
